Mona’s notes
This week, I ran out of time. One thing after another took priority and before I knew it, Saturday was upon me and I was still scrapping around for the time and head space to write to you. 🕰️💨
I didn’t forget you - quite the contrary - you were lightly treading on my thoughts all the time. A merry cloud that tails me throughout the week, quietly absorbing ideas, quotes and sweet links, to later collage and compose into my weekly love letter 💌. But sending out something that’s rushed and I’m not satisfied with? Better not.
Do the forgotten feel disappointment because they are no longer a priority? Is it the fear of losing relevance or feeling unwanted that makes us feel sad? But what does forgetting feel like to the person forgetting? In this instance, it was the mechanics of prioritisation. I felt frustration.
What elevates us to being a priority in another person’s life? I use to visualise priorities like a linear list that we work down, top to bottom, or hungry baby birds in a nest vying for that worm 🐥. But I am learning that maybe they’re more like colours. Sometimes the painting needs more of one colour, and less of another - the absence of any one colour is noticeable and significant 🎨 it’s not a lack, it’s composition.
I woke up today and realised that the clocks went back. British Summer Time has officially ended and I had gained an hour. This may not be the usual Sunday blend, but I was able to dedicate that unexpected token of time to you my loves 🍳❤️ ☕️
Have a beautiful week ☀️
With love
